Scouting report · after week 7

Alone in first, with the sixth-most points

6-1 after beating Patrick head to head. Four straight wins, Drake Maye carrying it, and a +1.91 luck rating that says the record is about two wins ahead of the roster.

The story. Chris beat Patrick 118.24 to 112.02 for first place and is 6-1, alone at the top, with four straight wins. He has 821.46 points, sixth in the league, and a 45-32 all-play record that says he should have about 4.09 wins. He has six. Luck rates +1.91, second only to Mike. The record is real and so is the gap behind it.

What's working. Drake Maye scored 27.44 and has 138.46 in seven starts, 16.86 percent of the team's points. Zay Flowers went 27.7 and has 106.80 in five starts. Rhamondre Stevenson scored 22.5 a week after 3.6. Christian Watson has 96.80, George Kittle 83.30. He left 8.80 on the bench this week, his second-cleanest lineup of the season.

The problem. The kicker and the defense. Dominic Zvada scored 1.0 and the Patriots D/ST -1.0, and Mark Andrews went 5.3 at FLEX while Hunter Henry scored 14.1 on the bench. Kirk Cousins has 75.24 on the bench, Stefon Diggs 69.40, Henry 67.60. Omarion Hampton has 57.50 on an 80.16 projection, Chase Brown 74.80 on 96.44.

What to watch. Week 8 is Sam B, who has a 47-30 all-play record to Chris's 45-32, averages 4.05 more, and has the worst luck in the bottom half of the table. The numbers say Sam B is the better team. The numbers have said that about most of Chris's opponents.
